CIQTEK & SciMed Electron Microscopy Seminar Day-25th Feb 2025

This is a one-day event covering many topics for EM users, from Sample preparation, including ion Bema Milling and liquid samples, to actual equipment such as benchtop and floor-standing SEM. The day will consist of a series of technical presentations focused on the subject of Electron Microscopy, by some hands-on sessions.

Attendees will gain insights into the entire offering from SciMed in the field of Electron Microscopy and related sample preparation. They will also be shown SciMed’s EM suite located at the LMCC at Loughborough University which includes a CIQTEK SEM3200, a high-performance tungsten filament scanning electron microscope renowned for its exceptional imaging quality and versatility across various applications.

The SNE-ALPHA by SEC is a compact tabletop SEM that combines user-friendly operation with ultra-clear resolution, making it ideal for detailed particle size analysis and 3D rendering. Additionally, participants will explore the SEMPREP SMART Ion Beam Mill from Technoorg Linda, equipped with high-energy and low-energy argon ion sources, designed for precise final polishing and cleaning of samples for SEM, FEG, FIB, and EBSD samples, ensuring damage-free surfaces and facilitating rapid cross-sectional analysis. Finally, the Aquarius Liquid accessory for SEM from FlowVIEW will be presented.

This comprehensive overview will enable attendees to understand how these cutting-edge instruments can enhance their research and analytical capabilities.
